F/T launches Behind The Design

Inside look at style trends inside and outside furniture arena

By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, May 8, 2006

AT THE MARKET -- With the May 8th launch of Behind The Design, a monthly style feature, Furniture|Today will provide an inside look at how style trends inside and outside the furniture arena are affecting the home furnishings market.  (Check out the online site at furnituretodayonline.com/BehindTheDesign )

The new feature will be written by interior designer Susan Pantaleo, founder and president of Concepts In Design Inc. in Barrington, Ill. In addition to spotting trends in home furnishings, Pantaleo will use her expertise to look at what’s taking place in other industries such as apparel, automotive, jewelry and other fashion-forward arenas. “I’m thrilled to have someone with Susan’s credentials and abilities help us with this new initiative,” said Ray Allegrezza, Furniture/Today’s editor in chief. “Since its inception 30 years ago, Furniture Today has been the leading trade publication for news, statistics, analysis and more. Now, with that same level of excellence, with Susan’s help, we intend to add style, fashion and design expertise to that list.” Since 1988, Pantaleo, a member of the American Society of Interior Design, has operated Concepts in Design, a full-service interior design business. She is certified by the National Council for Interior Design Qualification, and is a teacher at the Illinois Institute of Art in Schaumburg, Ill.  “Susan has emerged as an expert in style and trend forecasting,” Allegrezza said.  “With those skills, she will help us add a new dimension to the paper and make us an even more compelling read.”
