Douglas Annand Jr., mattress industry

VENTURA, Calif. - Veteran mattress industry executive Douglas Annand Jr. passed away July 16. He was 86.
     He began his mattress industry career as a sales representative with Serta, and then founded Mattress Makers in the 1960s. He later was vice president of national accounts for Restonic.
     In the late 2000s, he founded Capital Bedding Systems and remained active in the mattress industry as a consultant until his death.
     He is survived by five children, two grandchildren and a niece. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be directed to the charity of one's choice.
