Enso offering answers with Solutions Studio

HIGH POINT - Mattress retailers are looking for solutions to boost their business these days, Enso Sleep Systems executives say.
     And so those execs are rolling out a new Solutions Studio program to give retailers answers to some of their bedding questions.
     The program follows successful studio programs introduced earlier by Klaussner Home Furnishings, Enso's parent, in the case goods and upholstery arenas. "It was only natural that we would introduce this program in bedding," said Len Burke, Klaussner's vice president of marketing.
     Enso is bringing the program to the market here following successful showings at the Las Vegas Market in January and Nationwide Marketing Group's PrimeTime show in Las Vegas in March.
     "When you partner with Enso you've found the perfect solutions for your specialty bedding needs," Enso says in a retail presentation on the new program. "The new Enso Solutions Studio displays a broad range of high quality memory foam specialty beds, all offering a high-margin opportunity."
     The margins range from 55% to 63%, Enso officials said.
     The Solutions Studio mattress program is designed to make it easy for retailers to get into the bedding category, the officials said. It offers various lineups of mattresses, adjustable bed bases and pillow displays.
     There are three versions of the mattress studios, ranging in size from 240 square feet to 380 square feet. The number of beds featured ranges from three to five. Enso offers a number of product discounts for retailers, with the size of the discounts increasing as dealers step up their commitment to the program.
     The Solutions Studio mattress program is backed by Klaussner's national network of distribution centers, which offer quick delivery times that enable retailers to carry a minimum of inventory in their stores while still being responsive to customer demands, officials said.
     Klaussner also offers a direct container program for retailers who want to boost their margins.
     The mattresses and pillows in the program use a variety of technologies and features, including active charcoal, silver technology, negative ion treatments, bamboo covers, and mineral water in the foam formulations, the company said.
     Display elements play a critical role in the mattress studio presentations. Upholstered headboards, offered in a variety of fabric applications, help the mattresses stand out. And an attractive pillow rack highlights pillows designed to meet varying sleep preferences, the company said.
     Burke said the Solutions Studio program is helping Enso build upon the foundation it has established in mattresses since it entered the category more than three years ago. "It's been a great addition to our portfolio of products," he said.
     Klaussner first offered the mattress program to its existing dealers and has since expanded distribution to other retailers, he said.
