KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia - Exhibition organizer UBM Asia says it will launch its first furniture and interiors show in Southeast Asia here in September 2013.
Organizers said in a press release that the first Southeast Asia Furniture & Interiors Furniture Fair, or SEAFIE, will be held in Kuala Lumpur at the Putra World Trade Centre Sept. 14-17.
They said the show will complement the annual Malaysian International Furniture Fair, held in March, as well as the Furniture China show, set for Sept. 11-15 in Shanghai. SEAFIE will feature mid-priced to high-end home and office furniture, interior design products and soft furnishings.
Organizers said they expect to draw 300 international exhibitors and 20,000 buyers.
"The timing is ideal for the launch of SEAFIE in light of the changing market environment," said Datuk Dr. Tan Chin Huat, chairman of MIFF. "Based on in-depth market research by UBM, September is a key second buying season for furniture and interiors buyers worldwide these days. SEAFIE will be a fantastic opportunity to tap into this market for manufacturers, designers and distributors."
