APPLETON, Wisc. — Jamie Valeri, co-owner of retailer Today's Furniture Advantage, was crowned Mrs. Wisconsin 2012 and will compete in the Mrs. USA Pageant, set for July 11-12 in Las Vegas.
In 2005, Valeri, a mother of six, and husband Richard Valeri acquired the retail store, which now has locations here and in Stevens Point, Wisc.
In 2011, the Valeris launched Silent Night - Give A Child A Bed, a program in which Today's Advantage Furniture donates one bedding set for every 10 sold. The program partners with local social services to donate beds to children in need.
After being named Mrs. Wisconsin 2012, Jamie Valeri has expanded and promoted Silent Night by making event and television appearances and by encouraging other Wisconsin furniture stores to launch their own programs.
