Shuford Mills collection wins ADEX fabric award

Hickory, N.C. — Shuford Mills' Urban Essential collection of Outdura performance fabrics has received the 2005–06 Gold ADEX Award for design excellence.

The fabric collection, inspired by 1950s patio cloth, was chosen from a record 1,505 product entries in the design competition, presented annually by the publication Design Journal.

"We're very pleased to have one of our new collections selected for the prestigious ADEX award," said Jeff Jimison, Shuford's director of sales and marketing. "We're proud of our furniture fabrics, and we're honored to receive this peer recognition."

One of four new collections for the company's 2007 line of furniture-weight Outdura, Urban Essentials features three patterns: Montage, a layered foliage overall; Tandem, a retro-inspired geometric; and Collage, a textural tweed that uses boucles and multicolored yarns to create an upscale look.

Like the other introductions — Colorblocked, The Hamptons, and Safari Style — Urban Essentials includes coordinating stripes, jacquards and solids that integrate existing colors and collections.
