Chris Henning named North America president for Dormeo Octaspring

DALLAS — Bedding veteran Chris Henning has joined Studio Moderna, a European direct marketing conglomerate, as president of North America for the Dormeo Octaspring mattress brand, a newly created position.
Octaspring is a foam spring that its developers say offers unique comfort and support characteristics. The line of mattresses, toppers and pillows made its U.S. debut at the recent Las Vegas Market.
Henning, who was most recently with Comfort Solutions, previously was president of U.S. sales for Kingsdown and was president of retail for Tempur-Pedic.
"I was drawn to Octaspring because the product is so sensational," Henning said. "Its patented foam spring technology and plush finish is uniquely different from anything else that's on the market and is absolutely ideal for the growing specialty mattress sector. Given the changes that are occurring in our industry, the timing could not be more fitting to bring the Octaspring line to the attention of North American retailers and consumers via our multimillion-dollar TV and multi-channel marketing activities."
Based in Dallas, Henning will report to Kym Bramm, CEO of Studio Moderna Brands International.
Octaspring says its individual memory foam springs work together to form the core of the mattress. The eight-pillared, breathable honeycomb structures work together to create cradling support for the body, with a cooling airflow spread throughout, the company said.
Octaspring is a patented technology manufactured in Belgium.
