Asheboro, N.C. — A memorial fund has been established to assist the wife and two small daughters of Jeff McDonough, who along with fellow Klaussner sales representative Tim Finn-egan was killed in a three-vehicle accident during market.
McDonough, 51, of Danville, Calif., and Finnegan, 58, of Sacramento, Calif., were partners in a territory that covered northern and central California. The accident occurred near downtown Asheboro shortly after the two had left the Klaussner showroom one evening.
Finnegan began his furniture career working in retail in Phoenix before moving to northern California. McDonough's career started at Levitz. They became partners as manufacturers' reps in the early 1980s, working with Michael Kaye, and repping such companies as Simmons-Allied, Boyd, APA Marketing and Vaughan. They became California reps for Golden Oaks in the mid-'90s and remained after it was acquired by Klaussner.
Finnegan is survived by his wife and a grown son. McDonough is survived by his wife, Jennifer, and daughters Abby and Kate.
More than 100 people from Klaussner and other friends and associates attended a memorial service for the two during market at the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd in Asheboro. They were remembered for their work ethic, professionalism and the love they had for their families.
