Best of market: Highlights from April market introductions

Bailey Street

This accent table has a scalloped edge and dark finish, which gives the piece an Art Deco flair.

Stickley

The Philadelphia open armchair is a reproduction of a chair in the Masterworks Gallery in Colonial Williamsburg's DeWitt Wallace Decorative Arts Museum. The piece, which has a mahogany frame, is an example of Philadelphia rococo style, circa 1765.

Emerson Et Cie

This plasma TV stand is part of the Prodigy collection. The solid-walnut piece was a hit with its creative combination of French and Spanish influences.

Marge Carson

The Danielli chaise, shown here in a bronze chenille velvet, also is available in any of Marge Carson's 500 fabrics or leathers.

Sharut

The Bronson collection is designed for open homes and lofts. The bedroom and living room areas share a flat-screen TV through a revolving mechanism in the room divider. One side shows a bookcase, while the other has the TV.

Henredon

Henredon did well with its latest additions to the Acquisitions program of one-of-a-kind items. The new pieces featured traditional designs with edited shapes and lean silhouettes and a mix of eclectic materials.

Bush

The Branson Gamer is designed to enhance the gaming experience by providing plenty of storage for consoles, controllers, game cartridges and accessories. The piece is on casters with a bold, high-gloss finish.

Royal Patina

While many sources focused on Italian this market, Royal Patina's Andalucia won buyers over with its Spanish influence, multiple veneers like satinwood, walnut, maple and cherry, and extensive hand-laid marquetry.

Capel

Confections is a flat-woven transitional pattern made in India of rayon and cotton. Part of the Colonial Williamsburg collection. $299 in 5 by 8.

Ferguson Copeland

This neoclassical daybed, made longer and grander than the Thomas Hope (1769–1831) original, is dressed in crocodile leather and tufted velvet with gold leafing.

Michael Thomas

A striae velvet from Epengle is the ideal backdrop for scatter pillows featuring a jacquard sunflower from Sunbury and two patterns of cut velvet from Epengle on Model 8300. About $3,995 retail.

Old Hickory

Old Hickory's winning sofa combines hair-hide with a Siberian tiger design, Westminster cocoa leather seat, and Lambert ebony pillows of Icelandic sheepskin. Freehand quilting effect on outside panels, all for $12,615.

Saloom

Heritage Farm, a New England-themed country casual collection in solid maple and cherry, won kudos for its variety of custom-order options and this fresh finish, Heritage Brandy.

Leda

Leda brings an upscale look to small dining with its Astoria collection. The table features a tulip base and a clean finish.

Young America

Young America aims to satisfy teens and young adults alike with the Surfer's Chase group. The headboard has a woven raffia panel framed by cherry veneers.

Broyhill

Available in a soft cream or deep black finish, the Bennington china received applause for its Federally inspired design and high degree of function.

Cox

The No. 3400 chaise takes a minimalist contemporary approach, combining a maple frame with a matka silk cover from Nipkow & Kobelt.

Franklin

The Winston motion sofa features a rich leather cover.

Jeffco

Jeffco scored with the Morris chair from the J. Peterman Collection, featuring a notch-adjusted reclining back.

Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams

The Billy upholstered coffee table ottoman, with tapered and turned legs, showcases an iconic kidney shape from the 1950s.

Hooker Furniture

Hooker put its own distinct stamp on the Arts & Crafts category with its Simply American group.

Modus

Modus Furniture International expanded its showroom this market from 4,000 to 10,000 square feet to show off its new home entertainment and dining lines. This rectangular extension table is part of the Mondrian Dining group.

Jonathan Adler

Named after Michael Caine's character Harry Palmer in "The Ipcress File," the Palmer sofa features an oiled walnut shell frame with an antique striated velvet oyster cover.

Kincaid

Kincaid goes cottage casual with this new sofa in a seersucker fabric.

Magnussen Home

The Galveston was part of a successful home entertainment rollout for Magnussen Home.

Powell

Powell Co. added to its Sunday Funnies collection shown in Las Vegas. The bright colors and fun shapes attracted attention.

Leathertrend

LeatherTrend had a hit with its Artisano ottoman — matching vintage leather and wood — that offers storage plus a removable serving tray.

American Drew

American Drew captures the nostalgia of Old Hollywood with the Via Delano collection, with a nod to the rise in popularity of Art Deco.

Art Furniture

This lingerie chest is part of the Nova collection. The piece is made from Jatoba veneers and birch solids with a deep Cognac finish.

Skovby

The SM36 dining group fits with this market's trend of offering clean, angular contemporary without feeling minimalistic.

Incanto Divani

Incanto Divani went full speed ahead with a three-over-three frame in brilliant turquoise.

Excelsior Designs

The Bella Vista bar has a curved and frosted glass top with a base made from sycamore veneers. The contemporary styling and high-sheen mocha finish made a splash with buyers. Other popular elements include brushed steel accents and shelf and drawer storage space.

C.R. Laine

This carved settee with intricately carved floral embellishments is part of the Jessica McClintock Home Upholstery Collection. It retails for about $3,700.

Master Design

This metal bed is part of the Villa Provence bedroom. It has a French- inspired design with elegant curved metal scrollwork on the head and footboard.

Howard Miller

The South Haven cabinet is an addition to the company's fast-growing Wine & Spirits collection.

Stanley Collections

Stanley Collections offered two options in Old World style. This Serafina group has similar silhouettes as Tre Venti but in a Frosted Almond finish instead of a Warm Caramel tone.

FFDM

Fine Furniture Design & Marketing goes after the younger consumer with this metropolitan-leaning Vogue collection.

Peters-revington

The popular Taos entertainment center from Peters-Revington features acid-washed copper door panels.

This stylish dining set, part of a new 10-piece Casual Living addition to the company's licensed Williamsburg line, did well.

Lazar

New products added to Lazar's Signature Designer Collection include this sectional from designer Stanley Jay Friedman.

Maitland-Smith

This dressing table-mirror combo was a hit at Maitland-Smith. The contrast of natural rosewood veneer and faux bone accents on the legs gave the piece an Art Deco flavor that is a departure from the company's mostly traditional designs.

Simon Li

Simon Li had a winner with this four-piece Mid-Century sectional dressed in a heavyweight sky blue leather cover on a coffee-toned wood base.

Tradewins

The Cherry Expression collection won favor with its combination of clean, Shaker styling with the architectural elements of Mission and Arts & Crafts.

Sligh

This traditionally styled bookcase, part of Sligh's Melbourne home office collection, was inspired by furniture found in the manor homes of southern Scotland.

Durham

Durham Furniture launched a new consumer brand this market called Orville & Mead. This master's chest can store all of a man's clothing from socks and T-shirts to dress shirts and slacks.

Wesley Allen

Korbel is Wesley Allen's first brass bed in about 10 years. The transitional-style frame is modeled after an antique and features satin-brass tubing and nickel-plated decorative castings. It has a suggested retail of $1,800.

Century

Century's curvaceous Broadwater, a 162-inch, three-piece sofa, did well with its sumptuous mix of European aniline leather, Ultrasuede, mohair, trims and tassels, at $12,000 retail.

Hammary

This ottoman is part of the National Trust-licensed Design in America collection. With its leather-tufted top and nailhead trim, the piece has a rugged look inspired by furniture seen in Jackson Hole, Wyo.

Encore

The Upward Mobility entertainment unit from Encore was a hit with buyers.

Klaussner

Due to the success of the Dick Idol master bedroom line, Klaussner decided to target children, too. The Cody & Colt collection is named after artist and outdoorsman Dick Idol's kids. This TV armoire could get even more pop as the company considers some decorative insert panels in the doors.

Pearson

Luxuriant green grasses and palm fronds, woven against a platinum ground by Italian mill Arturo Pozzi, seem to grow from the base upward on Pearson's No. 709 chair. Retail is about $2,200.

Philippe Langdon

This 84-inch round table in a Harvested Wheat finish drew a good response for Philippe Langdon. Chairs feature fabric upholstered backs and leather seats.

Dynasty

This armless sofa with tight back and bench seat generated kudos for Dynasty. It's shown here in a linen look with accenting toss pillows and bench ottoman in a bold stripe.

Chromcraft

Chromcraft went after the contemporary consumer this market with Cosmic. The dining set features metropolitan shaping on the chair backs and a starburst metal tabletop.

Lane

Dubbed the "croc chair" by many buyers, Lane's Hathaway recliner was a market winner.

Wynwood

Aiming to strengthen its contemporary offerings, Wynwood introduced Knob Creek. The two-flavor group can go upscale country in a burl pine finish or swing urban cottage with an obsidian finish.

Ultimate Accents

The 83-inch high Celadon curio features four half-inch, serpentine-shaped glass shelves. Retailing at $1,500, the piece also has subtle carved elements and a slightly distressed, rubbed-through Celadon finish on a hand-painted surface.

Luana Living

Luana Living's Chagall sofa, a paprika-toned mixed media story combining aniline leather and embossed crocodile inset on the cutback roll arms and front rail, drew a good reception.

Nourison

The Golden Crown collection is inspired by classic Persian originals. Hand tufted of hard-twist wool yarns, dyed to achieve the vintage look of vegetable colors. $599 in 5'6" by 8'.

Aspenhome

Aspenhome says its Young Classics transitional line has been "wildly popular" and, at market, it added this expandable entertainment center to the program. The piece features hidden storage.

Pennsylvania House

Pennsylvania House delved into Arts & Crafts this market with Badin Ridge, 35 pieces in solid alder.

Butler Specialty

Occasional source Butler Specialty pulled in good traffic with a new line, Chicago Bedroom. The line includes four collections — 18th century French, 18th century European, country French and transitional.

Austin Gray

This dining group is part of the well-received Boulder Ridge collection. The name comes from a Terry Redlin painting in 1988, featuring a snow-covered mountain scene.

Riverside

Haverhill combines traditional styling on the outside with contemporary function on the inside. Design features include fluted columns, carved moldings and a Sangria finish.

Najarian

Najarian departed from its typical Euro-classic styling for Rado, a contemporary/transitional look. This sofa retails for about $799.

Garcia

This wine cabinet features figured walnut swirled veneer framed against corky oak burl with finely detailed marquetry on the front and sides. Along with door and drawer storage, the piece can hold a dozen wine bottles.

Manchester

Alexander Julian takes loft beds a step farther by offering even more space under the sleeping area for seating and desking.

Vanguard

This piece, part of the Anthology collection, blends classic lines with fresh twists, like this lively op-art print.

Caperton

This side table was designed by Joe Ruggiero for Caperton Furnitureworks. The piece's pie-shaped enables it to fit snugly against the arm of a sofa.

Crawford

Crawford Furniture drew attention with American Rustic, an 11-piece bedroom suite in solid northern red oak with a heavily distressed finish.

Bernhardt

This cocktail table has a clean contemporary look that was a hit this market. Made from quarter oak veneers and available in a dark brown finish, the table also has plenty of function, including two pull-out magazine racks and a bottom shelf for magazine or book storage.

Palliser

Palliser's EQ3's contemporary lifestyle series made a shapely impression.

DFIC

Designer Normand Couture scored a hit for DFIC with the Ovalia plasma setup, available in walnut, teak and cherry. The piece features sliding tambour doors to hide audio components.

Abbyson

The Cassia collection is made of hand-knotted Himalayan sheep wool and silk with colors created from natural vegetable dyes. $899 in 6 by 9.

Vineyard Furniture International

Vineyard scored with the Lincolnshire collection, in 18th-century cherry. The collection features classic Chippendale design elements but lowers the formality with a lower sheen, lightly distressed finish.

Lexington

Lexington Home Brands drew

attention this market with a new gallery featuring products from its Tommy Bahama line. This platform bed comes from the newest Tommy Bahama addition, Jimbaran Bay.

Hickory Chair

Thomas O'Brien's Eliza for Hickory Chair combines elements of Mission and French Deco styling, set off by bold nailhead details.

Hickory White

Italian designs were popular this market, and Hickory White put its own spin on the look with Tuscan Home in a Carmel finish.

Four Hands

The Portugal console table is a style departure for Four Hands, which focuses mostly on transitional and contemporary case goods. This piece, in Meranti wood, exhibits a Spanish influence with its hand-carved accents.

Huntington House

Huntington House uses a creative mix of fabrics to dress up this opulent traditional sofa.

Padma's Plantation

The elongated high back of the Bayside chair struck a chord with buyers looking for something different.

Zocalo

Zocalo went Art Deco this market with Revelle, marked by stepped edges, rounded corners and an inlay pattern of hourglasses.

Hekman

This tray cocktail table, part of the Copley Square collection, sports a base inspired by early 1920s Art Deco styling. The tray is modeled after an 19th-century butler's tray table and features swirl mahogany veneers and an inlay with ebony and tulip wood veneers.

Mireseco

Horizon from the Alexander Julian collection is hand knotted of New Zealand wool. Tibetan weave. Made in India. $649 in 6 by 9.

Calia Italia

Calia Italia's Dormouse chaise won raves from contemporary fans for its mix of bright color and tufted leather on wood feet.

Highland House

Interlocking circles give a lift to this brushed metal canopy bed from Highland House's Scandinavian Simplicity collection of upholstery, case goods and occasional.

Legacy Classic

The Zebrano collection features distinctive zebra-striped veneers with a two-tone finish.
