Executives

Insta-rent

EDMONTON — Rentcash has hired former Easyhome executive Bill Johnson as president and chief operating officer of Insta-rent, its furniture and furnishings rental division.

Johnson spent a decade as executive vice president and chief financial officer of Easyhome, the largest rent-to-own merchant in Canada.

"His rental background and knowledge of the rental industry will be instrumental in taking Insta-rent to the next level, which could include a restructuring of the rental business or other strategic alternatives that the board of directors of Rentcash may review," said Gordon Reykdal, Rentcash's chairman and CEO.

Insta-rent rents furniture, appliances, electronics and computers with or without an option to purchase. Instead of operating freestanding stores, the company has kiosks in about 94 The Brick and United Furniture Warehouse locations in Canada.

Rentcash is the only publicly traded payday advance broker in Canada, with 322 outlets under The Cash Store and Instaloans banners.
