About the ranking
By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, June 5, 2006
High Point — Furniture/Today's Top 25 Furniture Manufacturers and Importers ranks companies according to 2005 furniture shipments to the United States.
Sources on the list sell into the U.S. market, regardless of whether they have manufacturing, assembling operations or corporate offices in the United States.
Non-furniture and non-manufacturing revenues, such as investment income and retail revenues, are excluded for purposes of the ranking. OEM revenues also are excluded. Contract furniture revenues are included in the figures, because many companies do not report them separately from residential revenues. In addition, sales of certain decorative accessories are reported in notes when available.
A total revenue figure is included in the notes for those companies that have revenues outside these categories and for those that sell outside the United States.
All figures are for the 12 months ended Dec. 31, 2005 and 2004, unless otherwise indicated.
Sales have been restated in U.S. dollars for Palliser and Shermag at the rate of U.S.$1=C$1.1656 in 2005 and US$ = C$1.2034 in 2004. Na-tuzzi's sales, which are reported in European euros, have been translated at the rate of 1 euro = $1.1842 in 2005 and 1 euro = $1.3538 in 2004.
