Fortune article highlights Stanley Furniture strategy
Notes company is bringing production back to U.S.

STANLEYTOWN, Va. — Case goods and occasional source Stanley Furniture's decision to bring production of its kids' line back to the United States is the topic of an item in Fortune magazine's "First" section.The story appears in the magazine's Sept. 28 print issue (but not on its Web site).
In the article, company President Glenn Prillaman says the move will give Stanley more control over its inventory and shipment flow and that "puts us in a better position."

Stanley's descion will only work if the quality of the product they produce lives up to the expectations of the consumer who purchases it. This is true regardless of where it is produced. This move guarantees one thing,higher expectations due to higher prices. Good luck....

It is ironic that the very positive article about Stanley's decisions and strategy regarding the production of their product in this country was reported in the same group of articles...one of which stated that Big Lots is recalling some 20,000 bunk bed units that were manufactured by and imported from a foreign country.
Stanley's strategy will serve them and their customers well. Best wishes to Stanley.
