Kevin Reilly named president of Matsuoka International
Japanese company showing at High Point Market for first time in October

FUCHU CITY, Japan — Kevin Reilly, a former director of international sales at high-end case goods resource Baker Furniture, has been named president of Matsuoka International.The company is a division of Fuchu City, Japan-based Matsuoka Kagu Seizoh, a high-end manufacturer of wood furniture that has been in business since 1866.
Reilly, who speaks four languages, has 20 years experience in international business and finance. He was Baker's director of international sales from 2000 to 2007. Before that, he worked for BB&T bank as vice president of international trade banking from 1996 to 2000.
In his new role, Reilly will help the company establish distribution in the United States and other markets, including Canada, Europe, the Middle East and Asia.
"I'm looking forward to working with a company that is extremely dedicated and deeply committed to excellence and am interested in sharing their superior crafted goods from Japan with the global market," he said.
Matsuoka will be making its debut at next month's High Point Market in space 408 of the Interhall section of the International Home Furnishings Center. It will showcase case goods and upholstery pieces from six collections. These pieces feature hand-selected leathers, exotic veneers, metals, semi-precious stones, and Italian marbles.
They also include a number of items designed by Australian designer Christian Lyon.
Matsuoka produces its wood pieces in Fuchu City and sources its upholstery in North Carolina.
