Robinson & Robinson gets kudos for new wood line

San Diego — Robinson & Robinson said its first case goods collection received high marks at the High Point market.
The Artisano collection, from the new case goods division of the company that is the parent of upholstery producers LeatherTrend, SofaTrend and EasyTrend, is a 16-piece assortment of dining and occasional pieces produced in Vietnam.
The collection was made to coordinate with LeatherTrend's existing Artisano collection of hand-rubbed vintage leather upholstery.
The case goods are made of acacia wood with veneers of wormy chestnut, cherry and burl oak, said Bill Manson, director of production in Vietnam. Drawers have custom hardware and English dovetail drawer fronts, while the cabinets have ball clasp and bar clasp closures, he said.
"Overall, reaction to the group was very, very good," said Bryant Dickens, president of LeatherTrend. "Obviously being our first case goods collection we are doing some minor fine-tuning. However, we received several large commitments going forward."
Artisano will add bedroom at the October market and the case goods division will introduce a second collection, Dickens said.
