Milan, Italy — The relocation of the Scoperta fabric show from Switzerland to its new home at Fiera Milano here brought an increase in visitors of over 22% from the 2005 total of 3,214, according to show organizers.
The May 9–12 market featured 117 exhibitors, an increase of 53%, said Andy Green, managing director.
Upgraded presentations were a key point of interest, he said, with many stands offering highly polished presentations.
The show included a trend forum and design workshops by Blue Fox NedGraphics using the latest software for the textiles and apparel industries.
By the show's end, 80% more exhibitors had rebooked for Scoperta 2007 than in the previous year, Green said. Scoperta 2007 is set for May 8–11.
Fiera Milano is the new home of many major exhibitions, including the famed furniture fair Salone del Mobile, held each April.
