Ashley enters metro Chicago

Arcadia, Wis. — Ashley Furniture HomeStores have opened in California and Illinois.
Ashley's first metro Chicago store is on North Milwaukee Avenue in the suburb of Vernon Hills, Ill. The 60,000-square-foot unit is owned by Barry, Rick and Larry Slovy. They plan to open three more Ashley stores this year, and up to 12 in the Chicago market.
The 50,000-square-foot Ashley store on Madison Avenue in Murrieta, Calif., features over 3,000 items in all categories. The store includes a coffee and snack area called The Daily Grind and a Fun Zone for kids to try out desks, bunk beds and dressers.
The store is owned by Edward Corn Sr., Christine Corn, Edward Corn Jr. and Darrin Marthens.
Wisconsin-based Ashley Furniture Inds., founded in 1945, is a full-line furniture manufacturer and importer. The first HomeStore opened in Anchorage, Alaska, in 1997. There currently are over 180 Ashley stores in North America.
