Drayton Hall, Aberdeen coming to High Point Market

Companies will show in IHFC

Thomas Russell -- Furniture Today, September 30, 2009

HIGH POINT — Drayton Hall, a new case goods and upholstery resource bringing goods from Malaysia and Vietnam, will make its debut appearance at the High Point Market in October.

Another case goods importer, Aberdeen Furniture, is returning to High Point after not showing for the past two markets. It last showed in CenterPoint in April 2008, according to the IHFC.

Drayton Hall, which is showing in the International Home Furnishings Center, M-635, will offer bedroom, formal and casual dining and occasional table groups, including six made with metal and glass. It also will show fabric and leather upholstery, accent chairs and eight groups of outdoor furniture.

In its announcement, the company didn't give specific price points but said they are in the medium to medium-high range. The company will initially ship its goods container-direct, but said it will soon open a California warehouse.

Aberdeen also will show in the IHFC, in space M-913. Its assortment will include 15 bedroom groups, five occasional table groups and six casual dining groups made with a mix of cherry, oak and mahogany veneers.

Price points will range from promotional to upper-medium, with five-piece bedrooms retailing from $699 to about $1,899.

The goods ship container-direct from Malaysia and Vietnam, or from an Atlanta warehouse. A California warehouse is expected to come online soon. The company said goods also are already on the water, which will allow them to be shipped to dealers right after market.
