MOUNT AIRY, N.C. — Three more former employees of Bassett Furniture Inds. here have pleaded guilty and been sentenced for their parts in an embezzlement scheme at the company's former plant here, the Mount Airy News reported.
Authorities said at least $1.9 million worth of products were taken from the plant, which later closed. But the employees sentenced this week were not implicated in making money from furniture sales, only in taking goods for themselves and their families.
Four others involved in the plot were sentenced previously and one former employee remains to be sentenced.
