ADF takes Decosit to court over show space

Brussels, Belgium — American Decorative Fabrics, a supplier of upholstery and other decorative fabrics with production in China and warehousing in the United States, has brought legal action against the Decosit fabric show held here each September.
ADF President Jack Cobb said the action in a Belgian court was brought because, despite having been approved for membership in the show for the past two years, ADF still has not been assigned a space at the show.
A hearing is set Sept. 5 in Brussels, according to Cobb. "At that point, the judge will make a ruling as to whether our case advances," he said.
"We have brought this action based on the fact that we find the criteria to be arbitrary," Cobb said. "We are in the black hole of the waiting list for a space. In the meantime, they have admitted other Chinese mills."
