Design symposium set for June 22–23
By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, June 4, 2006
West Chester, Pa. — Design trends, color systems, global sourcing and intellectual property protection will be among the topics examined at Global Design Initiative, a CAD/CAM technology symposium sponsored by the American Assn. of Textile Chemists and Colorists.
The program, set for June 22–23 at QVC's headquarters here, is the first such event since AATCC acquired the Computer Integrated Textile Design Assn. last year.
CITDA was the premier association committed to the use, management and development of computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing systems in the textile industry. CITDA is now part of AATCC's Concept 2 Consumer Interest Group.
Dee Dee Davis of Springs Inds. is chairman of the event, which will target CAD designers, CAM managers, textile designers, stylists, colorists, merchandisers, retailers, design technology providers, educators, and fashion and home furnishings management.
The program will focus on design trends, color management and color matching systems, global sourcing challenges, innovative fabrics and technologies, design collaboration and image management, design using calibrated printing, virtual design and protecting designs in the global market.
Registration is $395 for AATCC members and $590 for nonmembers. The fee includes luncheons, breaks, a networking reception and a copy of available presentations. Attendees also will have an opportunity to tour QVC.
