Tom Wright steps down as chairman

THOMASVILLE, N.C. — Don Wright, formerly vice president of sales and marketing at Wright of Thomasville, has been elected chairman of the board as part of a series of management changes at the mattress industry supplier.

The company, a supplier of mattress labels and retail display materials, said that Tom Wright has stepped down as chairman following his retirement this year. He will maintain his seat on the board as chairman emeritus.

In addition to his chairman's role, Don Wright also will hold the position of chief marketing officer for the company. Outside the company, he also currently serves as chairman of the International Sleep Products Assn.

The company said that Greg Wright will be CEO, while Ron Wright will become chief operating officer. Doug Wright will retain his position as chief financial officer.

"These internal moves will better position Wright of Thomasville for future growth as we look to expand our product and service offerings to our existing markets, as well as give us the foundation for further growth in new markets through acquisition opportunities," said Tom Wright.

Tom Wright and his late brother, Bill, founded the company 48 years ago. The other Wrights are their sons.

The company's divisions include Wright of Thomasville, Wright of Dalton, Wright of Hong Kong, Wright Labels and Showroom Solutions.
