HIGH POINT — The National Home Furnishings Assn. has gone live with its Homefurnishings.com consumer Web portal.
The retailer association said consumers visiting the site "can learn how to pick the perfect sofa from Candice Olson and how to find their decorating inspiration from Jane Seymour."
Other celebrity and designer materials include a piece by Christopher Lowell offering his thoughts on the holiday centerpiece as well as work-from-home secrets, and the Ask Kate column, with color specialist Kate Smith writing about creating a monochromatic tone-on-tone color scheme "finding the perfect kitchen color."
"Our goal was to create one content-rich site where the consumer can get answers to make her house the home of her dreams," said NHFA Chairman Doug Kays.
Homefurnisings.com also is promoting a $5,000 "Inspired Living Begins Here" home decorating sweepstakes that consumer can register to win on the site.
The site also includes a dealer locator.
At the High Point Market, NHFA is offering live demos of Homefurnishings.com in Retailer Resource Center on the first floor of Plaza Suites Oct. 17-19 at 12:45 p.m. each day, and during a reception Oct. 17 from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Retailers attending a demo will receive a $25 gift certificate - one per company - to the NHFA store.
