HICKORY, N.C. — Components supplier Hickory Springs Mfg. has introduced the Power Rocker, an electrically powered rocker/recliner mechanism. The new mechanism can be activated by a wireless remote control or a button on the arm of the recliner, said Drew Sweeney, national product manager for motion.
"The Power Rocker takes everything we've learned in 60-plus years of developing motion mechanisms and turns it into an exciting new product designed to stimulate consumer demand for comfort and convenience," Sweeney said. "It gives you the ultimate in comfort and control by allowing you to adjust the recliner in an infinite number of positions at the touch of a button."
He said the mechanism is available with a swivel or ring base and comes in three seat widths. When closed, there are double locks on both sides of the unit that operate simultaneously to ensure a secure closing.
Hickory Springs produces more than a dozen motion mechanisms for the furniture and bedding industries, in addition to mattress innersprings and other components. The company also makes components for the construction, automotive, packaging, medical, marine and telecommunications industries.
