AT THE MARKET — Mattress and pillow protection supplier FabricTech International is on the upswing with a new president, a new product line and key new retail placements, the company says.
FabricTech, which shows here in the International Home Furnishings Center, M-613, recently passed the 1,000-door dealer count with the addition of retailers in Texas and the Pacific Northwest. And the company has added sales representatives to cover 20 states in the western, southern and central regions of the country.
"This new team gives us the ability to really provide the high level of service, training and support retailers want in order to develop their mattress and pillow protection business," said Jeff Bergman, recently named president and chief operating officer of the company. "Retailers know that when they add FabricTech International to their accessory lineup, they not only provide a value to their customers, but they see their revenue grow as well."
The company's new StainGuard lineup features a quilted design and includes a pillow protector, a plush quilted mattress protector and an all-season mattress protector. The products are anti-microbial and Teflon-free.
Responding to the increased interest in organic and natural bedding, FabricTech is unveiling a new line of 100% natural mattress protectors and pillow protectors. They use the company's exclusive PureFlow filter. And the company also said it is revitalizing its core OmniGuard mattress and pillow protection products.
"The success of our core product lineup had retailers asking us to expand and broaden our product offerings to provide more variety and a broader range of prices for consumers," said Arnold Hershbain, chairman and CEO. "We've taken a number of steps this year to enhance the lineup and also to add strength to our leadership with the appointment of industry veteran Jeff Bergman as president and COO."
Bergman said the company has been on an "exciting journey" as it has broadened its lineup and begun working more closely with retailers to provide training and selling tools.
FabricTech has redesigned its packaging to better communicate the health and lifestyle benefits of its products, Bergman said. The products carry comments from Dr. Philip Tierno, known as "Dr. Germ."
