New offerings for children, adults

MEBANE, N.C. -- Kingsdown is expanding its high-end bedding offerings with a variety of new models and product lines. The new models offer everything from bedding just right for children to a customizable mattress that will enable adults to sleep comfortably without compromise.
The new models were successfully introduced at the High Point market in April, where Kingsdown hosted its “Jewel of the Night” event, which recalled the glory of ancient Egypt. There was nothing old about the new beds, however; they were state of the art for Kingsdown. The company’s new PartnerPerfect bed, which retails at $3,799 in king, pairs two body profile mattresses. Kingsdown’s new “Cloud” topper, which features pressure-reduction foam and a polyester chamber for added pressure relief, breathability and moisture balance, zips into place over two mattresses. That system enables each sleeper to enjoy the mattress designed to help him or her sleep most comfortably. The sleep set looks and feels like one bed, Kingsdown officials said. While that sleep set enables couples to enjoy the customized comfort that is the goal of Kingsdown’s DormoDiagnostics system, children are the beneficiaries of Kingsdown’s revised Advance line. That line, which originally debuted last fall, is now incorporated into the DormoDiagnostics program. A selection process for children using the company’s “Body Mass Index” is now part of the Dormo presentation.Children don’t have to lie on a test bed. Instead, their parents answer a series of questions to help match them to the right sleep system. The two beds have been renamed the Kingsdown Advance Red and the Kingsdown Advance Blue. They continue to feature waterproof, stain-resistant and anti-microbial ticking. A twin bed retails for $499.Kingsdown has expanded its high-end Vintage collection to a range of seven sleep systems, four innerspring and three foam, utilizing visco and latex. The collection offers fine tailoring treatments, including embroidered borders and handles, and carries suggested retails ranging from $3,000 to $6,000 in queen. The top bed in the new line, a pillowtop, features coils in the pillowtop and the support layer underneath, as well as in the box spring. Cushioning is provided with layers of natural latex and visco foam. Finally, Kingsdown has reconfigured its Plush Sense line to create three collections: Ultra, Premier and Enhanced. The beds have received a makeover to exemplify the style and craftsmanship for which Kingsdown is known, company officials said.Retails for that line range from $999 to $1,899. The beds are designed to offer the most comfortable mattress available at their various price points, officials said.
