Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, October 16, 2009
AT THE MARKET - The Common Thread for the Cure foundation is raising money to fight breast cancer with an effort here that will run throughout market.
Five exhibitors will have the foundation's Friendship Card sets available in their showrooms. Market attendees who make a minimum donation of $28 will receive a set, which contains five cards with envelopes and five monthly breast self-exam reminder stickers. The cards have a typed message encouraging the recipient to remember to take care of themselves.
Participating exhibitors are:
+ Belle Meade, Market Square, mezzanine level
+ CMI, Furniture Plaza, 303
+ Sligh Furniture, 310 N. Hamilton, 204
+ Vaughan, Plaza Suites, 210
+ Virginia Sterling, Market Square 204
Attendees can also purchase the sets at the Common Thread for the Cure's booth at Suites at Market Square, 1-538 or by visiting www.commonthread.info.
Proceeds will go to the Common Thread for the Cure, a furniture industry-wide foundation created in 2000 to help fight breast cancer. Through its Helping Hand grants, the foundation provides help to people affiliated with the home furnishings industry who are fighting the disease.
