HATTISBURG, Miss. — Top 25 furniture manufacturer Klaussner Furniture has opened its first licensed Sofa Express and more store here.
The 28,000-square-foot store carries the full line of Klaussner products and accessories and features a 5,000-square-foot Dick Idol and World Vineyards gallery, including hardwood floors and stone fireplace.
The store marks the first furniture venture for store owners Bill Fox and Jimmy Hicks, who previously were with a family-owned wholesale candy and tobacco business, Cole Brothers and Fox.
The Hattiesburg unit also is the first store to launch the new retail management system from CDS Solutions Group called Retail 6.
Sofa Express and more, based in Columbus, Ohio, currently operates 65 Klaussner-owned stores in Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia, Florida and Nevada.
The network ranks 35th in Furniture/Today’s list of Top 100 U.S. Furniture Stores and has over 1,500 employees.
Klaussner plans to open as many as three dealer-owned licensed stores in 2006 and several more in the first quarter of 2007.
