Mussallem joins Kuka in EVP post

HIGH POINT - Leather upholstery resource Kuka Furniture has hired furniture industry veteran Joseph Mussallem as executive vice president of sales and merchandising.
In the newly created post, Mussallem will oversee sales and merchandising functions in North America. He will report to Brian Parker, president of Kuka Furniture, and will continue to reside in High Point.
Mussallem has worked in the furniture industry for more than 20 years, mostly with leather upholstery producer Natuzzi. He was president of Natuzzi Americas from 2010 to 2012.
Most recently, he was southeastern U.S. sales manager for upholstery producer Palliser Furniture, and earlier was special accounts manager for Chateau D'Ax, which also produces leather upholstery.

In addition to hiring Mussallem, Kuka promoted Justin Smith to vice president of sales and marketing.
Smith, who joined Kuka in February as sales manager, will have additional responsibility for implementation of the company's strategic marketing initiatives within North America. He continues to report to Parker.
Before joining Kuka, Smith was head of the leather upholstery division of Z-Line Designs. He earlier held merchandising posts at Le Noir Leather, Natuzzi and LeatherTrend.
