New Italian leather upholstery source Bracci set to launch

HIGH POINT — Mauro Bracciale, a 20-year veteran of the leather upholstery business, is launching a company at next month's High Point Market that will offer Italian-made leather upholstery.

Named Bracci, the new company will focus on middle and upper-end price points with hand-made products from a factory in southern Italy.

"They will be made in Italy, but designed for North American consumers," Bracciale said. "The softness of the cushions and the seat height and pitch ... are all made according to the taste of the North American market."

The products will use eco-friendly leather hides, foams and woods, and will feature covers with heavy, sophisticated stitching patterns and 2mm full aniline leather.

Retail price points for sofas start at $1,999 while sectionals will retail for $3,999 and up, he said.

Bracciale said the company has secured a North Carolina warehouse for its line, which will make it easy for dealers to order product as needed.

Bracciale most recently was president of sales and marketing for North America at leather upholstery resource Violino. Earlier, he held a variety of sales and marketing posts at Nicoletti, Calia and Softline.

At the Oct. 19-24 market, the new company will be in a permanent showroom in space D-850 of the International Home Furnishings Center.
