PLANO, Texas — Specialty sleep producer Dormeo Octaspring has hired former Tempur-Pedic executive Dany Sfeir as its chief marketing officer for North American operations, a new position.
Sfeir has more than 20 years of experience in senior level brand-building work at advertising agencies and helped launch the Tempur-Pedic brand in the United States. He joins a number of bedding veterans hired to build the Dormeo Octaspring brand in the United States.
"Dany's exceptional ability to build brand awareness in the U.S. mattress industry is well documented and we look forward to him creating even more ‘marketing magic' with Dormeo Octaspring in the U.S. and Canada," said Kym Bramm, CEO of Studio Moderna Brands International, which includes Dormeo Octaspring in its brand portfolio. "Our global success is driven by a first class group of international multi-channel marketers, so Dany's appointment is the perfect fit."
"Dany is the most dynamic marketing executive the sleep products industry has seen in a very long time," added Chris Henning, Dormeo Octaspring's president of North American retail sales. "His direct response skill in building the leading memory foam brand is unmatched in our industry and we are thrilled to have him on our team. As we look to build our brand in the United States & Canada, there is no one more qualified than Dany to lead that charge."
Most recently, Sfeir has been a branding and marketing consultant. Prior to that, he was senior vice president of marketing for Tempur-Pedic worldwide as well as president of Tempur-Pedic Direct Response Inc., the subsidiary of the company responsible for direct marketing, sales and advertising.
Earlier, he worked at marketing firms such as BMG Direct Marketing, NextStep Marketing and Ogilvy & Mather Direct, and was a marketing and advertising executive at companies such as NordicTrack, Jostens-Direct and Select Comfort.
"Dormeo Octaspring uses new, cutting-edge technologies designed to revolutionize sleep and I am excited to be a part of its senior leadership team," Sfeir said. "We are poised for great success and I look forward to starting work with our customers. Creating a strong marketing and advertising support system further differentiates us in the marketplace and energizes sales for our retail partners."
