Two bedding producers, Cellupedic and Campbell Mattress, are making their High Point debuts.
Cellupedic is part of a worldwide corporation that began in Seoul, South Korea, where the company opened its first showroom in 1998. Cellupedic opened its first North American showroom in California last year and plans to open 10 more this year. It operates more than 2,500 retail outlets in 70 countries today.
Cellupedic's beds offer "Zoned Cell" technology through the use of specially engineered air cells. Retails start at $3,490 for beds that can be adjusted to meet the body's exact support needs and comfort preferences, the company says.
The producer is showing in National Furniture Mart 801, just down the hall from Furniture/Today's market offices, by the way.
Also new in High Point is Campbell Mattress, a Missouri-based, family-owned company looking to expand its business. Terry Meece, a veteran of the case goods and upholstery categories, joined the company last fall as vice president of sales and recently filled me in on some of Campbell's product offerings.
Campbell, showing at the Jacob Edwards showroom at 215 S. Main St., is bringing beds in three of its lines to High Point. The Regenerest Collection is a gel and memory foam line that has hole-punched gel and Active-Flo foam to enhance air flow. The Comfort Contour line is a fabric encased offering with upholstery layers of gel and memory foam. And the Posture Form line features coil technology and foam encasement.
The producer's High Point introductions will retail from $599 in the Posture Form line to $1,449 in the Regenerest Collection.
Also new this market is a second market showroom for Emerald Home Furnishings, which is bringing its new Cool Jewel gel and memory foam line to High Point. Emerald's new showroom is space 105 in the Center Point building, where the company's primary showroom is also located, in space 201.
Emerald's new showroom will be a "Sleep and Sit" pavilion, where the Cool Jewel line will be shown along with a number of other new Emerald product offerings. And Joe Carman V, the bedding veteran who is the marketing manager for Emerald's bedding division, will be in High Point to introduce the new line to retailers. Welcome, Joe.
The mattress category remains a dynamic one, as the arrival of new bedding exhibitors on the High Point scene demonstrates.
