PUYALLUP, Wash. — Sleep Country USA said it has signed a deal to give the mattress retailer naming rights for the Washington State Fair's ShowPlex exhibition center here for 10 years.
The 122,000-square-foot facility, which will now be called the Sleep Country ShowPlex, is booked most weekends with public and private events, officials said. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Sleep Country, which has more than 80 stores in the Northwest, said it has had a strong presence at the fair for years. One of its main charitable causes is to help the region's 20,000 foster children, and the retailer works with the fair to provide a fun experience at the event for many children and their foster families, officials said.
"As a company committed to the community and its customers, having our name on the ShowPlex feels like a natural progression. The Washington State Fair Events Center draws an extensive audience throughout the year, many of whom are seeking a quality night's sleep," said Sleep Country CEO Dale Carlsen. "We are excited to have Sleep Country featured prominently for fairgoers in need of better sleep and look forward to helping foster families create lasting fair day memories for years to come."
