Ashley HomeStores open in 5 states

ARCADIA, Wis. - Ashley Furniture HomeStores have opened in new locations in Georgia, Ohio, North Carolina, Missouri and Washington.
     In Thomasville, Ga., a 20,000-square-foot HomeStore has opened on Pinetree Boulevard. Russell Turner is the store owner and Freddie Walker is the store manager.
     In northern Ohio, two Ashley HomeStores have opened. In Fairlawn, a 22,958-square-foot showroom has opened on West Market Street and in Mentor, a 29,868-square-foot has opened on Plaza Boulevard. Store owners Tom Kane and Timothy Quinn of Wellsville Carpet Town have plans to open two more HomeStores in the greater Cleveland market over the next few years.

Ashley, Washington:

     Wellsville Carpet Town, a 45- year-old home furnishings retailer headquartered in Olean, N.Y., opened its first HomeStore in 2001 and operates 10 Ashley Furniture HomeStores in New York, Pennsylvania and Ohio.
     In Raleigh, N.C., licensee Broad River Furniture has opened a 36,000-square-foot store on Glenwood Avenue. This new store is Broad River's 15th Ashley HomeStore location. Michael Thompson is the store's general manager. Founded in 2003, Broad River is the regional licensee of 14 Ashley Furniture HomeStores in the Carolinas and Georgia, with one Ashley Furniture HomeStore outlet in Charlotte, N.C.
     In Spokane, Wash., a 32,000-square-foot Ashley Furniture HomeStore showroom has opened on North Newport Highway. Store owner Ricky Martinez is president of Nu Deco LLC and Han Nara Enterprises.
     In Florissant, Mo., a 38,000- square-foot Ashley Furniture HomeStore has opened on North Lindbergh Boulevard. Owned by Phillips Furniture, this marks the sixth St. Louisarea store. The Phillips family opened its first furniture store in 1937 under the name Phillips Mercantile Company on South 7th Street. in downtown St. Louis. Store owners Stephen Phillips, Matthias Phillips Sr. and Michael Phillips also own and operate Ashley stores in West St. Louis County, O'Fallon, Mo., South St. Louis County, Shiloh and Edwardsville, Ill., and Phillips Furniture in Kirkwood. They also own an Ashley store in Columbia, Mo.
