La-Z-Boy adds features to mobile platform

MONROE, Mich. - La-Z-Boy has unveiled an updated version of its mobile platform that allows consumers to access information through smart-phones, tablet computers and other digital platforms.
     The new platform includes ZIP code-based pricing to ensure that consumers have accurate local information, as well as the ability to customize furniture with any fabric.
     In addition, it will provide contact information and directions to the nearest store.
     "Consumers want digital capabilities available on their smart-phone in an efficient and seamless way that suits the platform," said Matt Targett, director of interactive and product marketing. "La-Z-Boy is well positioned to capitalize on this trend and believes that having the ability to do everything from selecting fabrics to locating a store on a mobile device will ensure the consumer has a positive experience on our site."
     He said the new mobile site incorporated results of a usability study that measured the ease of navigation, aesthetics, functional performance and overall likes and dislikes. Also new to the La-Z-Boy site is a Style Finder, which allows consumers to identify style preferences by completing a short but engaging quiz.
     Additionally, the company now offers French Canadian and Spanish websites that allow it to create brand awareness and communicate with a new consumer base.
     "La-Z-Boy is focused on ensuring that our website and all of our other digital platforms are destinations that inspire consumers, educate them on our products and where possible, allow them to purchase the perfect pieces for their home," said Targett.
