GMFA, Clarizio Foundation help families facing cancer
August 4, 2012,
PARSIPPANY, N.J. - More than 120 members of the Greater Metropolitan Furnishings Assn. attended a benefit golf outing hosted by GMFA and the Dean Michael Clarizio Cancer Foundation.
Two $5,000 donations were presented during the event, held June 12 at Knoll Country Club here, to Nicole and Dominic Decarlo and Peter and Kelly Angelo to help with expenses associated with their children's cancer treatments.
The foundation was established after Dean Clarizio, brother of Klaussner sales representative Chris Clarizio, lost his battle with the disease. It has donated about $250,000 to date to families and individuals fighting cancer.
"Dean spent his short life reaching out to others," said GMFA Executive Director Alan Granetz. "We appreciate being able to continue helping others in his name."
