Haverty Furniture Cos.

Atlanta — Retailer Haverty Furniture Cos. has made several promotions.

Janet E. Taylor has been promoted to vice president and general counsel. She joined Havertys in 2005 as vice president, law, and earlier was a partner in the Atlanta office of King and Spalding.

Steven M. Langer was promoted to vice president, supply chain. He joined the company in 2005 as assistant vice president, supply chain. Previously, he worked with global companies such as Georgia Pacific and Delta Airlines.

Matt C. Scalf, a 20-year industry veteran who joined the company in 2004, was promoted to vice president, import services. He works with manufacturers in Asia and Havertys' quality control firm.

Scott T. Miles was promoted to assistant vice president, stores. He has held a variety of positions in store operations, serving as the market area manager for the company's expansion into Cincinnati and as operations manager of the Washington metro market area. Before joining Havertys in 2002, he supervised store operations in five states for Richmond, Va.-based Heilig-Meyers.

Heather L. Wujek-Johns was promoted to assistant vice president, financial planning and analysis. Her responsibilities include managing the budget and forecast processes and financial analysis.

Baker Knapp & Tubbs

Chicago — High-end manufacturer and designer showroom operator Baker Knapp & Tubbs has promoted Greg Heller to regional sales manager, West and Midwest.

Heller, who has been a sales specialist for Baker in Southern California, reports to Richard E. Vaughn, executive vice president of sales.

Before joining Baker, Heller was assistant store manager and interior designer for St. Louis retailer Plunkett Home Furnishings. Earlier, he worked in sales for Lerner in New York, Factory Card Outlet in Naperville, Ill., and The Children's Place in Secaucus, N.J.

Baker Knapp & Tubbs is a subsidiary of Kohler Co. and is the parent of manufacturers Baker Furniture and McGuire Furniture, Baker Knapp & Tubbs designer showrooms and Baker stores.
