Tupelo, Miss. — More than 200 industry members gathered at the Tupelo Country Club here earlier this year to celebrate the 50th birthday of manufacturer Lynn Davis, and to contribute to the City of Hope Cancer Center.
The event raised $211,000 for the charity, one of the world's leading research and treatment centers for cancer, diabetes, HIV/AIDS and other life-threatening diseases.
Retailer W.S. Badcock Furniture, Mulberry, Fla., hosted the party for Davis, vice president of Davis International.
Davis and Badcock President Don Marks will be presented with the City of Hope's Spirit of Life Award at a gala dinner on Oct. 22 in Greensboro, N.C., during the fall High Point market. The executives will be honored for their commitment to the industry and dedication to the community.
