Stanley Furniture outfits Seawatch Idea House

Will be featured in Coastal Living Magazine

Thomas Russell -- Furniture Today, October 30, 2009

STANLEYTOWN, Va. — Case goods producer Stanley Furniture and Coastal Living Magazine are furnishing the 2009 Seawatch Idea House in Sunset Harbor, a community near Southport, N.C.
Stanley Seaside Inn sideboardThis chair and accompanying Seaside Inn Sideboard are among the Stanley Furniture pieces that will be on display in the newly built 2009 Seawatch Idea House in Sunset Harbor, N.C.

The project is the latest development in the relationship between Stanley and Coastal Living, which first launched the Coastal Living by Stanley Furniture collection last fall. More than 20 pieces of furniture from Stanley collections will be used to decorate the house.

The 6,000-plus-square-foot house is on a bluff overlooking wildlife preserves in the Southport area. Its features include a sleeping porch, an outdoor kitchen and a kayak storage room. Completed before Labor Day, the house is featured in the November issue of Coastal Living. A pictorial spread on the house will highlight Stanley and other contributing sponsors.

"Coastal Living approached us early in the year about participating in the Seawatch Idea House," said Stanley President Glenn Prillaman. "Needless to say, we were enthusiastic about showcasing our product against such a beautiful and inspirational backdrop."

"Our relationship with Coastal Living - the magazine and the brand - continues to flourish and expand in new directions," he added. "This house proves that Stanley Furniture and Coastal Living continue to make a great team."

The house is open for tours through Nov. 29. For more information or to purchase tickets, visit www.seawatchideahouse.com. Proceeds from ticket sales will benefit the Boys and Girls Homes of North Carolina. An online tour of the home can be taken by visiting www.coastalliving.com.
