Traffic up 21.5% at India's Index Furniture Fair

MUMBAI, India — The Index Furniture Fair here in September recorded a 21.5% increase in traffic from last year's event, show officials reported.Attendance at the Sept. 18-22 event totaled 31,098, up from 25,591 in 2008.
While most attendees were from India, the show attracts a number of international exhibitors. They showed a mix of furniture and other home furnishings products in 400,000 square feet of exhibit space at the Bandra-Kurla Complex in Mumbai. Of the 236 exhibitors, 170 were from India, 54 were from Europe and 12 were from the Far East.
The fair also attracted delegations of architects, builders and interior decorators from India and other countries.
