ARCHDALE, N.C. — Hep Direct, a home delivery service with numerous furniture industry clients, has hired Carol Hathaway as chief financial officer.
Hathaway has held managerial posts in accounting, audit, finance and administration. Most recently, she was chief financial officer of Tolt Services Group and earlier worked for the accounting and consulting firm Ernst & Young.
In her new post, she reports to Keith Hewitt, CEO.
Sun Delivery
THOMASVILLE, N.C. — Home delivery service Sun Delivery has promoted Bobby McCrannie to manager of its newest service facility in Dallas. McCrannie previously worked at Sun's Thomasville operations center.
The company also named Eddie Simon as account executive for Southern California. He will be based in Sun's terminal in Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., and will oversee existing accounts and new account development.
“These changes are part of an overall strategy to position ourselves as the premier white glove furniture carrier in the nation,” said Rick Phillips, president. “Our commitment to excellence and attention to customer detail has allowed for continued growth in spite of the condition of the nation's economy.”

Weir's Furniture
DALLAS — J. Blake Weir has rejoined the three-store Weir's Furniture Village here as a buyer in its merchandising department.
A grandson of founder J. Ray Weir, J. Blake worked for the Dallas retailer for nearly 20 years before resigning in 2002 to serve with his family on an international church mission.
His new responsibilities include buying accessories, premium leather and other upholstery.
With his return, there are four members of the third-generation Weir family involved in day-to-day operations — Mark Moore, president and chairman; Brooks Weir, vice president and vice chairman; and Amy Fullerton, Weir's Country Store manager.
