W. Schillig re-entering recliner category
By Furniture Today Staff -- Furniture Today, October 17, 2009
HIGH POINT — W. Schillig, which produces contemporary leather upholstery, is re-entering the recliner category with a lineup of upper-end reclining chairs.
The new models, called the Time Out collection, carry a starting retail price point of $1,499 and feature a variety of back and arm styles.
Other features include adjustable headrests and a mechanism that reclines, swivels and glides.
Unlike many contemporary reclining chairs, the Schillig models do not have matching ottomans.
“We had great feedback at premarket, and I think we're going to do real well with this line,” said David Stewart, vice president of sales and operations.
He said the company hasn't offered recliners in the U.S. market for about eight to 10 years.
