Innovation moves HQ to West Coast
Gary Evans -- Furniture Today, October 17, 2009
HANOVER, Md. — Upholstery resource Innovation USA says it is moving its headquarters from here to the San Francisco area and is strengthening its warehouse set-up on both coasts to keep freight costs low and optimize logistics.
The company will close its Baltimore warehouse and move to a larger facility in Deptford, N.J., and also will take a larger warehouse space in Union City, Calif. It will be able to offer its entire U.S. collection from both cities.
“This will make it easier for us to react to changes in the marketplace,” said Tomas Nielson, general sales manager. He said the company also plans to supplement its annual catalog with a newspaper-type announcement of new product, and will be adding a new sales representative and two new agents.
Nielson said company execs spent two months traveling around the United States studying trends and colors, and those findings will be reflected in new introductions and a new 2009/2010 catalog it will present at the High Point Market. Product will be more focused on the U.S. market, he said.
In High Point, Innovation USA shows in 220 Elm, space 300.
