West Bros. expanding Elements collection

HIGH POINT — Canadian case goods specialist West Bros. is expanding its Elements collection of bedroom furniture with dining room at this week's High Point Market.
Sporting a definite Shaker influence, the transitional collection is offered in solid cherry with a cinnamon finish and accented with the consumer's choice of brushed nickel or walnut bowtie hardware.
The dining room is offered with two chair and table styles and complemented with a sideboard and china cabinet.
The Elements bedroom features a panel and sleigh bed accompanied by a nightstand, bed chest, media dresser, bureau and a variety of other chests and an accent mirror.
Although price points aren't finalized, the company said a typical bedroom group (bed, dresser, mirror and nightstand) should retail in the $4,500 to $5,500 range. The bedroom is available for order now, with the panel bed to be shipped early next spring.
“We recognize that there is a need for companies to be well-rounded by offering quality goods in multiple categories,” Steve Maynard, West Bros. marketing coordinator, said in a statement.
“By introducing the Elements bedroom collection last year, we were able see the great potential of the collection and then have the opportunity to springboard into entertainment and now dining room categories,” he said. “We believe that retailers need collections which branch into multiple categories to ensure that their customer stays in their store to buy. This is particularly important in the current economy where the consumer tends to steer away from the impulse buy and shops around to other stores.”
The company reports a small increase in sales over the past year, and says its retail base is growing.
“We have tried to remain flexible by continuing to provide more customization options such as finish and hardware, and have expanded our designer base by relocating and expanding our showrooms in both Toronto and High Point,” Maynard said.
In High Point, West Bros. shows in the International Home Furnishings Center, D-1144.
