Bedtime adds U.S. warehouse

TUKWILA, Wash. — Youth wood furniture supplier Bedtime has opened a 20,000-square-foot West Coast distribution center here.
Bedtime had closed its domestic warehouses in 2006 to focus on direct-container business.
“With the industry-wide slowdown, solid containers of youth products have become just too difficult for most retailers,” said Ron Holliday, sales and marketing director. “In addition to broadening the account base to include warehouse customers, we now have the ability once again to help our container-direct customers balance inventory between containers.”
In addition to youth, the distribution center also is stocking Bedtime's new categories of platform beds and TV consoles, which are manufactured at the Bedtime source factory in China and can be mixed in containers.
China-based Shawin International Group purchased Bedtime in March from Oklahoma City-based retailer Mathis Bros., which had owned the company since 2007.
Bedtime has distributed youth furniture for more than 12 years and specializes in birch products.
