DALLAS — Leather upholstery source Soflex Furniture has hired veteran sales executive Jim Smiechewicz as vice president of sales and marketing and promoted Larry Mendoza to vice president of operations.
Both are new positions and both report to the Soflex board of directors.
Smiechewicz spent over 17 years in sales and management at Bassett Furniture, and most recently was an independent sales rep for Soflex.
“Jim brings with him a proven track record which will enable him to have an immediate and positive impact for the team,” said Arthur Chiang, Soflex's owner.
Mendoza has been with Soflex since the company entered the U.S. market in 2007 and most recently was its warehouse and operations manager in Dallas.
Taizhou, China-based Soflex has been manufacturing leather upholstery for more than 25 years. It warehouses 15 core styles in Dallas and ships the same day orders are received to anywhere in the continental United States, as part of its Soflex Express Quick Ship Program.
