Kindel Furniture produces massive table for Kuwaiti dinner party
Embellishments include applied brass, gilt leaf treatments

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — High-end manufacturer Kindel Furniture has just completed a massive round table, 12 feet in diameter, which will be sold to the Kuwaiti government for use at a dinner party, the Grand Rapids Press reports.
"It's got 84 pieces of applied brass all the way around the apron, with gilt leaf on it and a huge medallion inlaid in the center," said Kindel spokeswoman Amy Wolbert. "It's the most costly item we've ever produced out of this factory."
The company didn't disclose the cost of the table, but said the wood for the shipping crate alone cost $2,000.

I'd mark it up about 2000% like they do their oil. 450,000 dollars sounds like a fair price to me.

Seriously? This is news? I built a treehouse once with reinforced floorboards, double pane glass windows and raised panel doors but I decline to reveal the costs. Come on guys, there has to be some real news out there!
