HIGH POINT — Future Foam, a foam supplier to the home furnishings industry, plans to seek $90,440 in incentives from the city of High Point to expand a foam manufacturing plant here.
The company will present its proposal to the High Point City Council on Aug. 7. The High Point Economic Development Corp. board of directors approved the incentives package Wednesday.
According to the EDC, Future Foam plans to expand its 336,000 square-foot building at 1300 Prospect St. by 24,000 square feet. The project would add 12 jobs and represents a $3.8 million investment, including new equipment.
The company was founded in 1956 in Council Bluffs, Iowa, where it maintains its corporate headquarters. It opened its High Point facility in 1998. That facility produces flexible polyurethane foam for furniture cushions, mattresses and other residential and commercial applications.
