HOLMEN, Wis. — Ashley's Angels, a nonprofit formed by Ashley Furniture to help children in need, raised $30,000 during its 6th annual charity golf tournament.
More than 90 hole sponsors participated in Ashley’s Angels 6th annual charity golf tournament held on July 20. The event raised more than $30,000, which will provide food, clothing and toys for 150 children this coming holiday season.
The July 20 event, held at Drugan's Castle Mound, had support from more than 90 hole sponsors, which is believed to be the largest number of any event hosted at Drugan's.
The event featured a $10,000 prize for a hole-in-one as well as other prizes for any Par 3 holes-in-one. In addition, $6,100 was raised from various auctioned items, including autographed NBA jerseys, golf clubs, vacation trips, and pies from Norski Nook.
The money raised will provide food, clothing and toys for 150 underprivileged children from area schools, the organization said.
Since 1997, the all-volunteer nonprofit organization has generated more than $1 million in donations and benefited nearly 10,000 children in Mississippi, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. In addition to providing food, clothing, toys and blankets, it also fills special gift requests for children in need.
The next Ashley's Angels fundraiser will be held Aug. 9-10 at the Ashley for the Arts festival in Arcadia, Wis.
