PARK CITY, Utah — LightHeaded, producer of the LightHeaded youth bed concept, has named Katie Hatch as chief intuition officer.
Hatch, a principal in home furnishings product development firm Katie Hatch Design, has been working with the company informally for about eight months, said Dennis Forchic, president and CEO.
"She brings to our team 20 years of experience in furniture design, global sourcing and merchandising," he said, adding that she will spearhead the company's merchandising and product development efforts.
Formed in 2011, the company sells beds with a remote-controlled LED panel in the headboard that functions as both a nightlight and reading light. This panel also offers a wide selection of images ranging from Disney and Marvel characters to horses, dogs and sporting activities.
By allowing the child to switch out panels based on their interest, the concept lets the bed grow with the child and be used in their tween, teen and young adult years.
"The truly unique aspect of the LightHeaded Bed is that it allows the child to change imagery as often as they like.... You can buy a bed in a style that matches the décor you want and easily update that style to reflect you new girl's new favorite subject, sport, hobby or pop band," Hatch said in a statement.
