Maitè Designs opens U.S. showroom in Atlanta

Atlanta– TheQingdao, China-based luxury linen manufacturer Maitè Designs has opened its firstU.S.wholesale showroom, located here. The company already does substantial business in Asia andEurope. The new showroom features the company’s signature line of fine linen products including bedding, bath, table, and curtain linens in 100% cotton, linen, polyester and blended silk-cotton fabrics ranging between 350 – 800 thread counts. Liu Xiao, president and ceo, said, “After the overwhelming response we received at the July 2006 and January 2007 shows at the AmericasMart in Atlanta, we felt that Atlanta would be the perfect venue for the launch of our new wholesale showroom to display our exclusive collection of signature linens specially designed for the U.S. market.” Deepali Velayuthan, general manager, North Americas Division for Maitè Designs said, “In line with our long-termU.S.strategy, we plan to reach out to wholesalers, retailers, designers, interior decorators, catalogues, and more in theU.S.market via our unique model of ‘factory-direct-to-outlets.’ Since we are the factory, we have all the advantages of having eliminated the long chain of middlemen, thereby making our luxury linens more profitable to resellers.” The company said it also has aggressive plans of establishing a distributor network throughout theUnited States.
